I was walking on the streets of Stockholm today, walking back home, and it suddenly struck me. The Swedish Summer Explosion has started. Every year, around this time, the country changes. The trees turn green, the grass becomes greener, and above all, the Swedes really cheer up. I really notice that, me being an a non-Swede living among Swedes. The reason? Summer is around the corner.

And as summer basically is only 2 months over here, that season really ‘explodes’ into place. One day: grey trees, the next day: green trees. It’s fascinating to see that process happen in such a short time.

A former colleague of mine once said: Sweden has two winter seasons. A cold one and a somewhat less cold one… Well, the less cold one is just about to start
